Shaffer Acres is an ethical Bernedoodle or Bordoodle breeder in Southern California, focused on raising calm, confident, family-centered puppies. Our Bernedoodles and Bordoodles are raised on our ranch in Ventura County and are intentionally bred for sound temperament, health, and predictability in a real family environment.

We breed in F1b Bernedoodles and F1 Bordoodles, selecting parent dogs for gentle behavior, emotional stability, and strong structure. All of our breeding dogs are health tested, and our puppies are raised hands-on with early exposure to people, animals, and everyday sights and sounds.

Many families who begin their search looking for Goldendoodles, Labradoodles, Aussiedoodles, or Sheepadoodles, ultimately discover that Bernedoodles offer a uniquely balanced temperament — combining intelligence, loyalty, and a calmer presence in the home while the Bordoodles combine the exceptional intelligence and athleticism of the Border Collie with the trainability and low-shedding qualities of the Poodle.

Our puppies are raised on our ranch in Southern California, surrounded by children, animals, and real-life sounds and routines. From day one, we focus on health, temperament, and intentional early development so our puppies transition smoothly into active, loving homes.

Our Bernedoodle and Bordoodle puppies are raised in Santa Paula, CA, and we regularly work with families throughout Ventura County, including Ventura, Thousand Oaks, Camarillo, Santa Barbara and Los Angeles. Many families are willing to travel for the right puppy, and we’re happy to coordinate with families from nearby cities.
